Whats the situation as far as buying disposable lenses in India? I currently wear monthly ones, but thinking about going back to dailies, so I don't have to worry about solution etc. Don't particularily want to carry 180 pairs around with me though.

Are major brands like Focus Dailies or Johnson and Johnson One-day Acuvue easliy avaliable?

Hi JMB

You will certainly find international brands like Bausch and Lomb out here but not excatly sure of the ones you mentioned.

The downside is that contact lenses are a little more expensive here than the UK, specs are cheaper though.

I don't need either but my fiance used both until she had lasik surgery recently here in Bangalore, another member on here Nerdlinger just had the same at the same clinic.  Not sure how bad your eyes are but if not really bad then it might be worth considering at a quarter of UK prices.

Smoked for 25 years but now not smoked since 13th Jan. Am I now a non smoker, a smoker who doesn't smoke or an ex smoker? Do I have to even have a title, can I not just be a 'me'? Has not smoking made me crazy?, probably!

I have got Johnson and Johnson One-Day Acuvue here, most places generally don't keep them in stock but will order them in within 24 hours for you so pick up supplies when you are based in the big cities.

(Most opticians carry the 3 monthly disposable ones in stock but then you have to lug the solution about with you.)

I can easily buy daily and monthly disposibles for my children, but my wife's prescription is not readily available.

They can be ordered, but the last time I asked they said it would take one month.

are contacts really more expensive in India than the uk?..  I bought 3 months supply of johnson and johnson acuvue monthly disposables for Rs 900.

agree with above posts otherwise.. daily ones (in Mumbai anyway) a bit more difficult to get your hands on

Contacts are a little cheaper in Cochin than in the UK, but the cleaning fluids are a lot cheaper than in the UK.
