The norm is left side in the north
right side in the north
piercing both sides used to be common in the south, it is not common now
btw, I wear on both sides

nice  thread about nose piercing, but what about the ears?
I'm male and have a single ear piercing in my left earlobe.
Is that also considered the feminine side?
What would people think of me in India? :)

I remember this being an absolutely crucial decision for boys when I was young - one side suggested you favoured the ladies, the other that you didn't. and now I couldn't begin to remember. but my son has his right ear pierced and he is definitely a masculine chap. :)
just is.

I've now had my nose pearced, 5 times, and it always manages to heal over. I love having my nose pearced though! Everytime I've had it pearced before it has been my left side. I want it pearced again, but I'm thinking now the left side might not be a good idea. But I can't stand the idea of having it in my right nostral!
So anyone, do you think the left would still be ok, and any ideas of how to make shore it stays this time.
Oh and I want a big hole, yay rajasthani nose rings! yay!

I don't, the last time I had it pearced was in India, when I got home my Babiji (sister in law) decided that the siver stud I'd picked wasn't good enough, so she took that one out to out a gold one I had in, and it was closed uo in the middle!
I had it pearced agian, the same day, that time, my body pushed it out so the bended part of it stud was in the hole, so the hole started to heal in a bend, so I had to take that out  :'(
It really sucks but seems like my body doesnt like having something in it. I have simerler, but smaller thing with my ears. I will teach my body to obay me though

I just got mine pierced two days ago.  I got it done at a tattoo place with a needle. it didn't hurt to badly. it's still a bit red and it's hard to get used to having it there.  I originally wanted the right side but when I got there I decided left. i'm not sure why. now that i've read this i'm glad I decided on the left!!hope the healing process goes smoothly. I think it's important to take care of yourself so that you heal from within. getting plenty of sleep and eating raw foods should help. i've also been taking manuka honey as a supplement. manuka honey is found in new zealand and offers amazing healing benifits. (I work at a health food store so it's easy for me to get all this stuff but i'm sure most health food stores offer it). good luck!!
