Met Christopher at a booksigning in Sydney last week for " Inhaling the Mahatma" the third of a trilogy about his life as an ABC correspondent (not the American ABC - I would be surprised if they had a correspondent in India!) in South East Asia and on the sub-continent. His knowledge of India was immensely deepened when he took a Hindu bride in Old Delhi and his writing is quite rivetting. Published by HarperCollins Australia and readily available to Oz readers at present through the usual channels. Check him out on Google - his books on the sad fate of the Lao monarchy and the carpet wars are up in (my opinion) the Dalrymple league.

I just bought that book today.  Will start it tomorrow.  Bought his Middle East book also, but that's for later.
