Thanks to Cameleer for the marvellous photos.  I found the Jaisalmer Camel Fair pictures particularly interesting.  Are the colours and patterns of the camel blankets significant?
In December 2000 I went on one of the many available overnight camel ride experiences out of Jaisalmer.  All the camels then  had blankets much the same as shown in some of Cameleer's photos eg "Cloes-up..." sic.  It occurs to me they might belong to a particular village or clan or maybe from a certain maker of camel rugs.
The BSF camels are decorated in a certain style when on parade. I can recognize different styles of camel saddles between the regions, but I have not seen many areas where camels are nicely decorated up for show other than the big events like Pushkar and Bikaner.

On my VR photo tours I jump around a lot working on some here and there. This week I did some major work on the Jodhpur tour, it went from around 6 VR photos to 36 and I still need to add more. You can now go inside the fort, down to the clock tower and many other places.
Here’ a link to the map.
