The Palace on Wheels (POW) is seeing a new competitor in Royal Rajasthan on Wheels (RRW). Both are exotic train journeys targeted at the high end travelers and the similarity ends there. While the former is a venture of the railways where the profits are shared by both the railways and the state in 56:44 ratio, the latter is a new method where the state takes on rent the facilities of the railways for a fixed amount. This amount is presently fixed at Rs 25 lakhs per trip. It seems that all seats have already been booked upto 2010 for Palace on Wheels – therefore, there is plenty of scope for the new venture.
The Royal Rajasthan on Wheels is a 7 day – 8 night package. It will begin from Safdarganj station in New Delhi and take in Jaipur, Bikaner, Jaisalmer, Jodhpur, Udaipur, Chitorgarh, Bhartpur and Agra. The POW goes to Sawai-Madhopur but the RRW will go to Bikaner. The fare for Super-deluxe suites is $ 2000.00 per head. In twin-sharing basis, it is $ 800.00 while for single occupancy, it is $ 1200.00. Taxes will be in addition to the basic fare. On special occasions like New Year or Christmas, an extra 10% would be levied.

You should also mention that those fares are PER NIGHT, not for the whole trip. Not sure I'd part with that sort of cash to a so called professional outfit that only spent $2 on their website though!!
Smoked for 25 years but now not smoked since 13th Jan. Am I now a non smoker, a smoker who doesn't smoke or an ex smoker? Do I have to even have a title, can I not just be a 'me'? Has not smoking made me crazy?, probably!
