So... I'm back in the US. Have been a couple weeks. I just moved into my short term apt, and the first meal I cooked was Rajma and Jasmine rice! Boy, am I missing Indian food. We went to an Indian restaurant, and it was mediocre at best. Everything on the buffet had been there too long, was watered down in order to make more of it, and bland despite the fact that very few non-desis were eating there. *sigh* Oh, how I am missing good, fresh, homemade Indian food!
And my chapatis last night were *awful*. Apparently atta flour is NOT just simply wheat flour because American wheat flour made some awful, bran-muffin tasting chapatis. Yuck!
What to do? A few more months of this and I'll be in total withdrawal!
