Saw this nicely made thriller last week. Needless to say Nasiruddin Shah and Anupam Kher were excellent.

Naseeruddin Shah essays the role of a mysterious bomber, who suddenly gets sick of living his life in fear and decides to teach everyone a lesson. His target: Mumbai, with the jailed ‘jihadis' and the pulverised Mumbai cops who seem to be on bended knees when it comes to an effective counter-terror policy. He packs a flask of tea, a box of sandwiches, buys vegetables for his wife, tells her he'll be home soon and then gets down to business -- with precision and savoir faire -- on the roof of an unfinished building which oversees entire Mumbai. The police commissioner Anupam Kher is asked to release four terrorists or else Mumbai would go up in flames. The rest is sheer dynamite!

Did you see Black and White? I think it was along similar lines, and we enjoyed it. Will watch out for A Wednesday.

The story is ostensibly based on the headline-grabbing case of the terrorist attack on Parliament, when a Delhi University professor (SAR Geelani) was held responsible for his links with the terrorists. Like Geelani, Professor Rajan Mathur (Anil Kapoor) too teaches Urdu in Zakir Hussain College and unwittingly becomes associated with a suicide bomber (Anurag Sinha) who comes all the way from Afghanistan to blow up the Red Fort on Independence Day. Nomair Qazi, the bomber, poses as a victim of the Gujarat riots and wins the sympathy of the professor and his activist wife (Shefali Shah), as he takes up residence with his supposed grandfather (Habib Tanvir) in the bustling by-lines of Chandni Chowk. The jehadi has fourteen days to plan his suicide mission and conveniently uses the simple professor and his emotionally exuberant wife to gain entry in the high-security environs of the Lal Qila. But before that, he must learn the more important lessons of life:
Sounds very interesting, I'll try and find it.

Black & White and Wednesday have two varying themes, however the backdrop is terrorism. But two very different plots.
And yes, I saw A Wednesday few days back, its a superb product, Naseerudin Shah actually lights up the screen.

Saw "A Wednesday" last Sunday. A super movie, with great performances by Naseer, Anupam and Jimmy Shergill.
