I have never been to India yet. Want to go to ayurvedic hospital for treatment, as I suffer from hepatitis c.
Find it quite overwhelming to choose which one, despite I have been doing my research. Also wanted the place to be somewhere where I can may travel as well a little.
At the moment I am thinking Kottakkal in Kerala (where ayurveda started) or Coimbatore(which I believe is big ind.town).
Does anyone know or came across these places from medical point of view and explore the country point of view?
Health comes first , but it would be a shame to come all the way from London and not to see anything! Feel a bit lost now.
Really appreciate any comments!
Thanx

Somebody else asked a similar question earlier this year, also about treatment for hepatitis C. Check out the replies in this thread:

Is Hep C a chronic ailment?

There had been a lot of discussions about alternate medicines, Me & my family personally have benefitted immensely from Homeopathy where as many have rubished the effeciacy of Homeopathy.
I called my doctor friend and he confirmed that Hep C is a chronic disease and allopathy is yet to find a cure.
As per him we had ayurvedic treatments for most ailments which we have lost. As per him the very fact that for thousand years living in the tropical area we survived points to the rich knowledge of herbal medicine...
I think you should give it a try

Hi there. I dont know if its possible for you to try find out which hospital to choose Kottakkal in Kerala or the one in Coimbatore. thats what interests me. I think it would be better for me to be in one of those. I would appreciate if you know any details about those two places. Thanks

If you are able to get a reservation plus accomodation in Kottakkal, you should go for it. From what I know its very difficult to get a room booked or fix appointments due to the mad rush. Infact there would not be many other places that could compete with Kottakkal on that account as they even treat president's and other national leaders.
From a site seeing perspective, Kottakkal may have a minor advantage with regards to distance to many interesting green spots of Kerala whereas Coimbatore would have more easier connections to different locations in south India like pondicherry, madurai, Ooty and so on.
