I watched this recently, and was engrossed. Beautifully shot in Benares, it's a tale of love, jealousy and faith.
The over bearing but statically pious Pankaj Kapur, is the central charachter, his deep faith is questioned when he adopts a small boy, what happens is a tale of latent jealousy, taking faith into the arena of justice and love of man.

Anyone who's visited Varanasi, will be enthralled by the filming and the story will keep you away from the teapot, beware.

I've got an autographed copy. Buggered if I can read who's though. Maybe I was had in Khan Market

Of course we live in the age of Youtube so for a wee preview

And of course the film has a website  Dharm

Pankaj Kapur is a brilliant actor...should have got far more due for his acting than he has. Three of his movies I really liked are "Ek Ruka Hua Faisla" (though a take off on Twelve Man Jury), "Yeh Woh Manzil To Nahin" and "Ek Doctor Ki Maut". For those who don't know, he did the dubbing for Ben Kingsley in the Hindi version of Gandhi.

Pankaj Kapur is the most underrated actor that I have ever seen perform. Four of his recent works have really opened my eyes towards this actor. For the first time, someone has made me realise what good acting is all about. The recent works worth mentioning are :

1. Dharm
2. Blue Umbrella
3. Maqbool
4. Halla Bol (Small role, but after seeing above films, it adds another dimension to the personality).

He was brilliant in Maqbool - the whole cast was brilliant in Maqbool!

If I have to give him some league, he is right there with Robert De Niro and Mr. Pacino.

I am so very waiting for 'Righteous Kill' to see these to legends together again.
