As Independence day approaches Delhi is practically under siege. In the back drop of terrorist attacks Delhi police are not taking any chances. Heavily armed cops are to be seen every  where . And Oh boy what kind of guns man !!!  Not the usual 303 rifles. I am sure that the designers of these guns had been given clear instructions to make these real evil & mean. The designers clearly followed the instructions. They have also made it clear by design that the guns have clearly two ends, the right end and the wrong end. For the persons at the wrong end the message is clear that things are going very badly. These are not guns that can be hung over fire places or stuck in umbrella stands, these are guns to go out with and make people feel miserable.

So sad.  What should be a time for celebration is a time for fear.

well, being born and brought in Delhi, we are used to such tight security. But I must say, it has never been a trouble for us on any festival, they do not bother locals too much. So the fun element is always there.

No plans as yet. You can imagine the state of our minds after what had been happening here..... Bangalore, Ahmedabad... now the question is another blast at a crowded place where men, women and children will die?????  My daughter fainting in her car as she did years ago when a bus blew up right in front of her?

well, I cannot imagine crowded places in Independence day, except for the morning speech at Red fort. So no one makes nay plans for local things that day..its always celebrations at ones own place of friends place.

We are getting together, some beers, an ice box, a car and some road. With some Kites and thread stocked for emergency use, we will hit the road. :D
