I've had all kinds of sandwiches over the years but have never come across this one before. Is it some kind of Indian delicacy?

This is an easy one.
First you need a grid, then 2 slices of bread from the same loaf.
Take one slice of bread and lie it down, add butter if required, put the grid on to the buttered or unbuttered slice of bread, then lie the other piece of bread on top (if you want butter on this part you need to do that first!) and there you have it, a grid sandwich!
Enjoy with a nice Chilean or Argentinian Cabernet Sauvignon, oh and a sprig of parsley!
And a Curly Wurly to follow!

Smoked for 25 years but now not smoked since 13th Jan. Am I now a non smoker, a smoker who doesn't smoke or an ex smoker? Do I have to even have a title, can I not just be a 'me'? Has not smoking made me crazy?, probably!

What type of grid do you recommend? Is it just an ordinary tesselation of congruent squares, or do you use Grid the giantess of Norse mythology, who, aware of Loki's plans to get Thor killed at the hands of the giant Geirröd, helped Thor by supplying him with a number of magical gifts?

I prefer to use the cast iron style that can be found on the street, they have a crispier texture and fuller flavour.
Alternatively you could use a more modern Aluminium one but for that I would recommend using only rye bread, substitute the Cabernet Saivignon with a South African Table Mountain Pinotage / Shiraz and try a Snickers bar instead of the Curly Wurly.
Mmmm, my mouth is watering at the very thought of it!

Wow!
That is a huge sandwitch... makes that blue spoon look tiny. Or, is it a tiny spoon?

Megha, if you go next door to Premson's in Mumbai, you will get the best grill sandwitch in the world (you will have to fight the crowd though!), These sandwitches are wrapped and even come to america with me sometime...
