Hello all!
I was just curious to know when the busy season usually starts in S India. From reading previous posts and a few guides, i'm assuming it's December, but I just wanted to double check.
I was originally planning to travel to S India in October but due to some minor financial issues I may have to post-pone my trip until early November. I'll be travelling for a little over a month. Most likely 6 weeks.
I know the busier it gets the more expensive everything is. When do prices usually start getting jacked up?
Thank you so much in advance for any replies!

The India travel "season" is October to February/March -- that corresponds in most of the country with lower temperatures, less humidity, and lack of rain.
Unless you are planning to stay in 4- or 5-star hotels, the only time hotel prices might be "jacked up" would be around Christmas-New Years in the desirable beach areas when and where demand is high.

The peak holiday season in India ends around Diwali. This year Diwali is end October. After this there is a bit of lull in the travel scene till winter season starts around Christmas & New Year.
As wwusa has rightly pointed out that except back waters & west coast beaches hotels etc. don't jack up rates.
