I downloaded open source Gimp, and what a program, wow!
I can create layers upon layers and save them as layers for editing later. Unlimited backediting and unlimited images in one open program. Wow, besides Picasa and Gimp I am deleting all my photo software!

I believe Vistet is quite familiar with The Gimp.
Paint.NET is quite good too but not as powerful as the Gimp.
