Hi all,
First of all, I hope it is OK I post this here..
I am making a website for an Indian friend by using the open source CMS Joomla! and I am looking for an Indian hoster (my Indian friend wants and Indian hoster). Are there any Indian Joomla website builders here who have good experience with an Indian hoster?Oh, for those who don't know Joomla; there are several requirements for the hoster to be able to host joomla (such as the right php, Mysql and apache), so I don't want just names of Indian hosters, but only suggestions from people having personal experience hosting an Joomla 1.5 website with an Indian hoster.
I would be very grateful if someone could help me here! Have posted on the Joomla forum also but still waiting for an answer. I did not find that many hosters in India meeting joomla requirements and if then the site does not look professional or they don't answer e-mails - which is not a good sign! Also, most Indian hosters have such small webspace.. (50 MB, 100 MB..) it seems.
Or do most if you Indian take a hoster abroad? Advantages, disadvantages?
Any suggestions? Thanks!
greetings ,
helga

We use http://www.mitsu.in for Indian and .asia domain registration.
Their hosting isn't bad (you can choose between hosting in India or hosting in America) and has a nice control panel will lots of features.
Mitsu's smallest webspace package is 1000MB and at Rs.200 a month including email is competitively priced.
There's no Fantastico (there is an installer for Joomla 1.0.11 - so you have to install Joomla 1.5 yourself), but there's a nice little utility to CHMOD the necessary files for you.
I have Linux Web Hosting (US) with 8000MB space (500MB allocated for databases) and Monthly Data Transfer of 10000 MB.
I have 10 MySQL Databases available too.
I hope this helps.
