cotton and linen are much cooler than nylon, and breathe.

make sure you cover up to prevent sunburn.

loose fitting cotton or linen would seem to be the best choice to me, although linen is much higher maintenance than cotton. long sleeves and trousers will actually keep you cooler and prevent sunburn - you get an airflow between the skin and fabric that acts to cool you down. wearing skimpy clothes just increases your risk of sunstroke and definitely exposes you to sunburn.
just is.

I wouldn't want a nylon shirt - too hot, I think - and linen is just to "high maintenance" - it wrinkles like mad!  I'd stick with cotton for both top and bottom, but there are some new "technical" fabrics, like CoolMax, which is some kind of polyester, that are designed to wick away moisture and be comfortable in hot weather, but clothing made from it can be expensive compared to cotton.  Here's a T-shirt made from some kine of "technical fabric" from the REI website http://www.rei.com/p...NS_CLOTHING_TOC
Pants are make out of this "tech" fabric, too.

Thanks ladies for reply, my question was prompted because, one of the store website mensioned low maintenance linen shorts :giggle: , also nylon Tshirt, looks good but my previous experience, stink after perspiration, so I have given it up. For Pants/shorts I like microfibre/cotton

We just missed great sale on REI, but I think I will try out REI Tech T.

I like linen, but I also have quite a few mixed fibre - linen/cotton - shirts.

Silk is also good, so I have my linen jackets lined with silk.

Linen does wrinkle, but that's part of its charm.  If you're looking for something with knife-edge creases, then wear cotton!
