It's been another great trip, though very short this time too. But very, very intense and full of great experiences and discoveries!
Nine days it's nothing in India, I know, but I cannot consider all the things seen, done, heard and smelled in these days as "nothing"...
I've covered four places in the south which I missed during my first trip two years ago, and they really all worth the trip (though it has been not so easy and quite tiring to connect them in such a short time; I've spent a total of four nights sleeping on trains!):
- TIRUVANNAMALAI
- RAMESWARAM
- TIRUMALA
- HAMPI
Each one with its particular feeling, each one different and with a different experience lived there.
I couldn't say which one I have preferred and enjoyed more.
But... if I have to make a choice... I would say RAMESWARAM.
Grat place, really a wonderful experience, a full-immersion inside the deepest Hindu world in a splendid environment on the sea, with an unforgettable and endless beach and fishermen village in the surrounding, all with a relaxing slow pace and with very, but very few tourists around. I find this town totally under-rated by the tourist guides, including the bad reputation of the food available (but I've tried a great pepper chicken at the Tamil Nadu hotel!).
Then... Tirumala... oh my God!
And Hampi... incredible place, though I have some negative comments to raise about the western tourists scene here, which will be subject maybe to a different thread.
And Tiruvannamalai too... the big temple view from the top of the hill...
Back to the normal everyday life now. But until when?
I will write more later on. And I will upload "some" pictures and post the link.
I have to rest now...
See you later!
