Hello hello

I’m off to Goa for the merry month of May 2008 to do a photojournalism project for my degree… and I hope you can help me!

It would be a delight if anyone could help with pointers on where to go. I’m after meeting some of the locals, them types who have lived/revistied there for years… does anyone know anyone they could put me in contact with? Some of the older hippies… the ones who run market stalls, yoga retreats, that kind of thing… the ones who probably aren’t as keen on the way things have become…

And, if anyone knows of any places that are the opposite of that, horrible touristy package places with restricted beaches and burgers and chips then that would also be very helpful indeed…

Message me if you have any info, or email me on stujyork@hotmail.com. Any help gets you some lovely pictures in return I promise.

cyberhippie & howie are our Goa gurus and I am sure they will direct you to all the great places.
Once I was a regular visitor and on one such visit looking at the way Goa was going I decided not to visit any more. After almost 3 decades I visited Goa last November. I can tell you the worst place to go. Go to Baga.

cyberhippie is a regular here so I am sure he will be replying soon. Coastal Goa is over publicised, you may think of exploring the other part of Goa.

Taking potshots at Goa seems to be a popular exercise in recent times....must say though that May is not the best month for Goa.
