Booking Trains From Uk

Hi,

We've been trying to book trains via IRCTC and encountered the following difficulties, we got as far as selecting the tickets then through to entering credit card details and paying, but then it seems to fail and we get an email saying the booking was unsuccessful, we've tried emailing IRCTC about this but still no response.

Has anyone else dealt with this?

I'm using a mac and Firefox as my browser presumably this isn't part of  the problem?

What exactly is the error message? Which paymentgateway are you choosing? Have you tried CITIBANK gateway?

Still failing me!! This is the error message:

You Were Trying To Use icici Payment Gateway And The Transaction CouldNot Proceed Due To Communication Problem .

There was a problem in processing the transaction due to one of the following reasons:
You have used Back/Refresh button of your browser.
You may have processed the transaction from more than one window.
Bank has resent the transaction with the same transaction ID.
To check if the ticket is booked, please click on the "Booked Tickets" link on the left navigation. If not booked, you may proceed to book again. If excess amount is found to be debited from your account, the same will be credited back to your account.
We regret that your Transaction could not be processed.

I'll try again now with the CITIBANK gateway

Just tried the CITIBANK gateway and got the same message. Is it worth attempting to book through each gateway in the hope that one of them will work? Maybe I should also try a debit card rather than a credit card too?

No...I dont think a debit card will work.
Persist with your credit card.....I had this trouble once but worked after about 4 tries....The IRCTC site is a bit slow and somewhat temperamental....but it does work ...eventually
