Whilst researching my upcoming trip I noticed the house boats have become a reality. These Maharashtran type house boats ply karli river between Devbag to Nerurpar.

Sounds nice AC, DVD Player, fridge....................Tarkarli is only about 2 hourse from Panjim by bus/taxi, or it can be reached via the Konkan Railway, the nearest railhead is at Kudal but buses are also available at Sawandtadi Road.

The beach here is beautiful, white sand and glistening blue water, This impressive Sindhudurg  Fort, was built in 1664 by the great 17th century Maratha warrior, Shivaji on Kurte is also well worth a visit, the Malvan cuisne is also very tasty and the sea food fresh so if Goa is getting you down head across the broder to this sleepy little part of Southern Maharashtra.
