I've just uploaded my pic onto my profile BUT I didn't know how to re-size it down to 50KB and I ended up sending it in a convoluted way via email to myself.  I then had to download the attachment and uploaded it to this forum.

I can't believe this is the right way to do it.

Please advise the correct way to re-size and upload to TIT.

Many thanks to all.   :D

Hi, I'm testing this out too. I've been having problems sending attachments via PM (only when REPLYing). The icon for attaching image requests an URL address, instead of a drive from my computer. Not sure why!

Yes, the request for a URL without the drive as an alternative source is a pain.  Can this be fixed?

The PM system is meant primarily for sending and receiving short messages through the India Tree server.

Although it is possible to attach a photograph with your message, this is better done by referencing to a URL such as:  http://www.myphotos.com/photo01.jpg or using your normal email.

If you want somewhere to store your photos online, I can recommend http://www.flickr.com as it is free and very easy to use - they even have a little upload tool you can download - you simply drag and drop photographs into it and it automatically uploads them and resizes them!

To attach a file to a Personal Message (rather that referencing it to a URL), you can browse your computer (with the browse facility underneath the PM box you type into), select the attactment and add the attachment to the message.

However, you may find it better to send attachment using your normal email, or by linking to a URL.

Best wishes,

John.
