Smoked for 25 years but now not smoked since 13th Jan. Am I now a non smoker, a smoker who doesn't smoke or an ex smoker? Do I have to even have a title, can I not just be a 'me'? Has not smoking made me crazy?, probably!

No Mahasamadhi then??? I visited his deserted Ashram in Rishi when i was there in early Jan. An amazing but eerie/spooky place full of really FAROUT! shaped concrete huts that are now overgrown by moss, apparently the land belongs to the Government who don't seem interested in doing anything with it, another unique tourism business opportunity that the Government seems to be oblivious to. Here's some pics;  :P KK

There were some really positive responses in the comments section of the article and, of course, some not so positive.

MMY's meditation technique and philosphy follows very much on the same lines as Art of Living/Sri Sri Ravi Shankar.

Both have filled a need at the right time and if they've turned people's lives around - Good for them.

A Beatles/India specific post, with the effect on their song writing.

Your mileage may vary in terms of appreciation

This is slightly OT but Beatles & Guru's related. Did you know that pics of Swami Yoganada (author of Autobiography of a Yogi) & His Guru Sri Yuteswar & His Guru Lahiri Mahasaya & His Guru Mahavatar Babaji (My Avatar) were on the front cover of the Sgt Peppers Lonely Hearts album. Look;

Meanwhile you have to wonder whether the Beatles’ future might have played out differently if Magic Alex hadn’t been in Rishikesh to spread rumors about the Maharishi. Instead of unraveling, as they did during the White Album sessions and throughout 1969, maybe meditation would have made them so prolific and contented that they’d have continued together, releasing a double album every six months or so.

It seems that they were immensely productive in their time in Rishikesh till the allegation by Alex. Ah,well.  Too  much of a good thing? :rolleyes:

Spooky, you're telling me KK! Just down the road from Ved Niketan and we searched for Ryan there one evening as it was getting dark. Police insisted on being present as things had occurred over the years. No trace of Ryan there tho'.

Maharishi's Ashram may be put to some good use after all, to house Delhi's homeless streetkid's. That's if the Government can be convinced. See Here:
