Ambermarie...

Hi, sorry we've been really busy as we went up to Mumbai to give out lothes to the slums there... (was quite hard work - although I only had to 'hold fort' down here while Shermina and 5 of the volunteers did the giving....

If you can email me at the address on our website that would be great as I don't always have chance to catch up with the forums... (Or I just miss them....)

We've had so many people apply to be volunteers it's quite hard to keep on top of them all. I think we may still need volunteers for April / May / June / July, but if you email me then I'll be able to tell you with more certainty...

Many Thanks

Robert

Priya,

Glad you liked the story, he's definately good at writing... Christmas was fab, really enjoyed it, also went to Goa's main government home/detention center yesterday and gave out clothes, toys, books etc so I felt quite honoured I was allowed in as not many people are. Was pleasently suprised inside, was much better than I was expecting...

Hope everyone has a great 2007

Thank you Priya and Dzibead for your generous comments and I'm glad you liked the newsletter and photos... I am going to try and get the next newslette out very soon... ALthough it might not happen... :os but you never know. Things have been going well and we have a great team of volunteers from Italy, Sweden, UK, USA and India at the moment which is making my life easier than it has been recently... (All my thanks to them). We have a huge number applying which is getting ridiculous actually. I spend a lot of my day replying to volunteers who aren't even here yet. It's nice being popular but does eat into your day somewhat.

The children are doing well, schools good, the house is looking better (a fresh coat of paint in places). Hopefully we'll manage to take a trip to some new (ones we haven't been to yet) slums shortly as we have a good collection of clothes to give out. I'm quite optomisitic at present. SO thanks to everyone! :)

Hey all... Well the whole newsletter plan sort of went out of the window... It's already Feb and I haven't really started the next one. Looks like it will be every two months again this year! - However I hope the next one will be action packed and full of cool stories, (there's been a couple of new babies, visits to the dentist, new building work ready for the grand opening (soon we hope) and not forgetting the Shilpa Shetti who was caught with one of our leaflets at the Zee Carnival in London.

Thanks all... If anyone wants to help without it costing you a penny you could always vote for us on Wisdom For All - Just sign up and vote each day (preferably), it's easy!!!

With all that's been going on, I'm surprised you've even had time for the newsletter. There's certainly been a hive of activity at the Mango House and long may it continue.

And welcome to little Cinderella :)

Priya,

Yes it's been kind of busy, well it always is... Thankfully no it's not season time we have a little more time on our hands as we don't have as many visitors... We love showing people what we do and we always want to stay transparent but it does eat away at your time somewhat, especially when they like what we do as they want to help etc - whch is great but like I said very time consuming! Hopefully we'll be able to do a bit of organising during the monsoon ready for tourist season again...

Judi, Thanks, I haven't really had much other chance to post on here recently so was feeling a little 'behind on the times' so thought I better add a few bits... Hope you're all well...

Hey Rob

Fab news about the licence, it was so frustrating to see what a great set up you have there but couldn't use it for what it was designed for! Now you can and I'm sure that will add character and joy to Mango House.

Wishing you the best of luck mate!

Hi Rob,

Great news about the granting of the charity licence :lipssealed: Really it is good news!

I would like to volunteer from November 2007 for in excess of 3 months...what are the chances?

Cheers
