An one stop destination is the INA market on Aurobindo Road opposite Dilli Hat. You can probably buy everything possible. The vegetable & fruit shops are sights by them selves. This is one of the places I come to pick up stuff like fresh lettuce, bell peppers, brussels sprouts, cherry tomatoes, celery & the like. The quality of both vegetabels & fruits are exceptionally good. The grocery shops here sell traditional Indian stuff as well as things from all over the world. There are some shops that sell things from south India. I buy my papars, my banana chips,my coffee & shallots from these shops. Further inside are the meat, poultry & fish shops. The quality of lamb & mutton is simply the best here. Ducks, guniefowls & country chickens are available & before X-mas you get turkey. The fish shops here sell both river & sea fish. Although I go to Chittaranjan Park market for my fish.
Another destination is the market at Jorbag. The best pork products are available at a shop called Pig Poe. They also sell gigantic chicken legs with thick fatty skin that I love so much. Steak House here sells things from all over the world, great selection of cheese & delicacies like quails, collar ham & in winter pinapple glazed hams.
I think I will continue this later as I have to cook things that I had picked up from one of these places. So whats for dinner???????
