Finally got to watch this movie online yesterday.
Where did you find it online?  I'd love to watch it again.  And I really hope it's released on DVD.  I'm surprised it hasn't been!

However, the locale and the language/accent/dialect do not match... Is it Andhra (as in coastal Andhra) or Telangana as the dialect used seems to suggest? I'm being picky here as someone who comes from AP, that was a bit of a disconnect.

Sometimes it's best not to have such "inside information."  :o  I used to drive my mother crazy when I would watch the old TV show The Streets of San Francisco with her, because I would keep up a running commentary about all the things that were wrong, like pointing out that if the detectives were driving down such and such street one minute, they couldn't possibly be in such and such a neigborhood the next minute because it was actually miles and miles away.  I'm lucky she didn't strangle me.

Vanaja IS available on DVD.  You can get it from amazon.com (probably other places, too).

:o  Sending you a PM.  You are right about the "inside information", I'm sure I'd have enjoyed it more than I did. The accent is almost perfect Telangana Telugu, though even there they wander off into somewhat bookish language.

OT, on another site a member wrote something in Telugu and I remarked that he was saying that with a Tamilian accent, he agreed but pointed out that it's actually Tamilian Telugu accent from a neighborhood in Chennai!  :o

I was looking in Indian stores, where (if available) the price is cheaper, waay cheaper than Amazon.  ;) My favorite DVD store in ATL has stopped carrying Telugu DVDs, reason according to the owner is that many Telugus are moving back to India, and it's not worthwhile for him.  :o
