Cheers!  I'm planning to do the Khangchendzonga Trek in Sikkim in April.  I've coordinated the trek through sikkim Himalayas at a great rate, $320 USD all inclusive for eight days.  My question is this...What is a fair rate for a jeep from Darjeeling to Yuksom?  Sikkim Himalayas quoted me 3000 INR ($76 USD) for the one-way trip.  In reading the Lonely Planet guidebook it sounds like jeeps abound in Darjeeling and there's no need to coordinate in advance.  Does anyone have experience with this and how much should I expect to pay?

Unfortunately it's 12 years ago since I was there but I paid 400 rupeess for a shared jeep back then, these days I can't see a jeep being more than 800-1000.
Sharing a jeep is fun you get to meet the locals and the scenery is amazing.
