Hello my friends!
Can anyone provide recommendation on the following items:
Water Purification - Is it required for train/hotel travel? Is Chlorine Dioxide adequat? Is a filter c/w giardia/cryptosporidium the desired approach?
Mosquito Net - Can these be purchased throughout India? Is it recommended to bring one c/w that anti-bug poison in the net?
Thanks for everyone's time & help! Off in 2 days....

Hi,
Bottled water is available everywhere.
If you are buying bottled water, just check that the screw top is sealed and you'll know that it has not been re-filled with pond water!
Hotels also sell bottled water, and most have a water purifier so that the ice they make is also pure.
Mosquito nets are also readily available in India.
I have one that I bought in the UK, but I have never used it because every place that I have stayed (where mosquitoes are a problem) already have a net over the bed.
Happy travels!

The nets I've seen in India are not great for traveling, too many hang points. Has that been your experience as well John or did you track down a net with a single hang point, which is much easier to hang whilst on the road.
Whether you have a net at the hotel largely depends on what class of hotel you use, I'm a budget traveller and never see nets in the hotels I use. Medium priced hotels are a mixed bag with some having nets others not. The more expensive hotels can always provide them.
An Goodknight vapourisor also keeps the mozzies at bay.

I bought Lifesystems nets and one of their first aid kits.
I have never even opened the mosquito net, but I have used the first aid kit, which I keep topped up with dressings and ciprofloxacin, to my mind the best drug to carry when travelling(which I buy in India).
