The tomato, fondly known as the "love apple," has long been thought to enhance the libido.
Some families in England think tomatoes are terribly vulgar and won’t have them in the house.
I wonder what they, and Kushwant Singh, would make of these chillies!

I typed something and then deleted some of you and Kushwant Singh can understand.
When the Spanish "heros" reached the south American shores they found the tomatoes and believed it to be poisonous. The crew of a ship bringing back the loot tried to poison the Captain by feeding him tomatoes.... for obvious reason it did'nt work out.

BTW, the drumsticks are at their tastiest when they are wee little things, thinner than a pencil. Then they get chewier, wnen the winged seeds develop, developing progressively from a pleasant to an unpleasant fibrous state, and a bland to strong tasting sour-ish pulp. I wonder how the doctrine of signatures would relate to these changes?
Regarding the peppers: 1) there is an exact female counterpart and seeds are available.
2) I have the seeds of the male version, many phenotypes from CU collection; Hyderabadi can get some from me if he wishes.
3) I am quite serious about this: these should not be grown/distributed in India, because silly jokes as to whether circumsison is natural or not will lead to sanguinary riots.
