There are occasions when a good project dies a natural death due to lack of foresight. This is especially true for government run organizations. An example is the cyber cafes on railway stations to provide modern amenities to the passengers. One such in cyber café in New Delhi railway station is becoming defunct because its location has been shifted and consequently, it fails to find patrons.

While selecting the location, it has to be ensured that the maximum number of passengers get an opportunity to access them. A station that has several platforms should, in an ideal case, have one cyber café for each. This is because trains arrive at different platforms as per the laid down schedules and passengers waiting for their trains on platform number 1 would not like to go to a cyber café on platform number 4. If, for the sake of economy, the cyber café is located outside the platforms, it would have still few takers – these would then be used by the locals residing near the station and not by passengers for whom these are meant.

Cyber cafes at the rail stations are a truly wonderful idea! I hope the officials can get it together and figure out how to do it.

As well as a wonderful time pass while waiting for your connection!
