I'm booking a few hotels in N India (Khajuraho, Mumbai, Udaipur, etc) - re night temperatures - should I be booking a/c rooms or will things have cooled down a little in October?
Cheers

I imagine North/Central India will still be pretty warm at this time of year, if your not used to warm evenings, however I wouldn't imagine it be oppressive like in May/June
Certainly I didn't use AC in October I found the fan on helicopter setting sufficed. Let's see what other think!

I don't find october nights too bad in rajasthan - you can certainly feel the difference from september to october. Days are still quite warm though.
I've never had an AC room, even in Delhi in August.... But I guess your tolerance depends on your home climate too....

Sorry, but my karma ran over your dogma

Khajuraho, Mumbai are not in north India.
I would recommend A/C room in Mumbai. This year it had rained very little in Delhi and many parts of north India, weather is quite muggy.

Mumbai was pretty hot still the beginning of this month, and my friend from there said it gets worse in October before cooling off, so I would say AC in Mumbai. Dunno about the others.

If I don't do a/c rooms for the trempterature, I do it for the noise. I find it impossible to sleep in Indian cities with the windows open.
