Just heard this being demonstrated on Radio 2.  Apparently you can scoop up filthy water from a pond with this and drink it safely within seconds, and you can refill it 6000 times.

The cost is a whopping £195 GBP but I guess that's a lot less than buying 6000 litres of water and you only need to carry the one bottle with you.  I dare say you could even filter your own on board water with it, if you get my drift

Anyway, thought it might interest somebody here Lifesaver Bottle
Smoked for 25 years but now not smoked since 13th Jan. Am I now a non smoker, a smoker who doesn't smoke or an ex smoker? Do I have to even have a title, can I not just be a 'me'? Has not smoking made me crazy?, probably!

Actually I just found this quote from the TElegraph website.

Mr Pritchard's bottle can clean up any water - including faecal matter - using a filter that cuts out anything longer than 15 nanometres, which means that viruses can be filtered out without the use of chemicals.

So, theoretically, one could become ones own sewerage treatment plant with just one little bottle to buy. With minimal wastage via breathing, sweating, etc.  Any residual waste could then be the converted to bio degradable.......

Sorry, I'm in one of those explore-the-idea-further moods today.       :yahoo:

Morarji Desai would have loved it.

Yuk, didn't understand the relevance until I looked him up!  :sweating:

Sorry, nofly....I disagree.

Morargin would not be the same if filtered and purified.  Would have defeated the purpose.

He would have 'protested' such a thing. No?

:sweating:  ;)

Yes but the thing that we all want to know is, but how tasty is it.. It's all well and well saying that there is no bugs in it, but if it taste's like Sh*t.. Then i for one i'm not interested, It's a great idea, but it's all down to the taste factor..

I'm wondering if they'll produce a version that will turn urine into Kingfisher Beer, much less filtering required there  ;)  :sweating:

Ray, Chris Evans said the pond water tasted like pure spring water!  I think the best test for it would be River Ganges in Varanasi, if it can purify that it can do anything surely!

The inventor apparently had 1000 bottles when he went to his first trade show recently:  the British Army bought the entire supply on the spot, as the water filtered tastes just like ........ water.    The buyer said that troops hated water filtered by other chemicals because of the residual taste, but that this was great.

Oh, and one can always trust you lot to bring a discussion down to its lowest level  :sweating:  ;)
