Women commandos to crack down on crime in Mumbai trains

MUMBAI: Unarmed combat and handling AK-47 assault rifles too, striking out against Romeos and also ready to handle any emergencies that might arise in a buzzing megalopolis. A crack unit of Mumbai's policewomen is being trained to secure the suburban railway network - the lifeline of India's financial and entertainment capital - particularly for its many women commuters.

You could call them real life Charlie's Angels, after the famous reel trio that launched a blitzkrieg against crime. The women commando force, drawn from the Mumbai Police, being set up by the Government Railway Police (GRP), is aimed at stemming the marked rise in crimes against women at railway stations and on suburban trains..........................

interesting strategy. after having been patted down by a few indian women in the defense forces, i'd be wary of attracting their attention.
