Please tick the box and we'll get a good idea - thank you

I am little cofused between two definitions:

I was born in India living outside India having acquired citizenship of other country.
What category for me? (I am leaning towards PIO)

NRI: Non Resident Indian
PIO: Person of Indian Origin

You're a PIO.

NRI is someone who is still a citizen of India but is living abroad.

A PIO is someone who is a foreign citizen (other than an citizen of Pakistan or Bangladesh) but who held an Indian passport at some time in the past, or he or either of his parents           or any of his grand parents was a citizen of India by virtue of the Constitution           of India or Citizenship Act, 1955.  A spouse of an Indian citizen           or of a PIO is also treated as a person of Indian           origin for some purposes (immigration/visa matters and financial matters like holding bank accounts or buying real property).
