Dear hyderabadi:
Thank you very much for posting this link. I am unable to get annual religious days from this website. I can get that on a day to day basis. Am I right? or is there any other way I can get all religious days from this website. if you could pl. explain, that will be helpful.

The Link from Iwtgbk should get you the Right info.
If you had scoured a bit in the Link from Hyderabadi, You would have got the festivals too.
http://www.panchangam.com/fest.htm
It is My fav time of the year. The festival season is in full swing for the next three months. I get to Celebrate Krishna's Birthday (Janmasthami), Immerse the Idol of Ganesha in a river (Ganesha Chathurthi) and Burst lots of Crackers (Diwali) with great food during each one of those festivals.
Way off-topic, But Could't contain the Happiness.

Epics, can you tell us a little bit more about yourself? Your ethnicity and such?
From your profile you are incognito.
Why I ask is, for example, if you are a Telugu, from Andhra Pradesh, like me, here you go:
(Panchagam in extreme detail, perhaps way more than you asked for, annual horoscopes - for you as well as the entire society around you - , muhurtham, durmuhurtham, nakshatram, sakunam, raasi, ...... et al
)
http://www.vaarttha....s/panchagam.pdf
And here's a bonus, perform some (free) virtual poojas just in case you find out in the virtual panchangam that the planets and stars are frowning upon you:

)
Navarathri too... is celebrated during this time of the year...
I read somewhere that this year sept 3rd night is the time to celebrate krishna's birth. Becasue krishna was born in ashtami thidhi and in the night.
Is there any specific instructions to do pooja on janmashtami?

My Dear Epics,
No probs. I wouldn't avoid you even if you were a Paki!
What do you mean you are an Indian (still) ??
Are you trying to covert? You know that it is being very difficult, no?
I have no idea how hot it is in Hyderabad, haven't been there in more than a year now,
I live in the US of A and despite trying very hard I have neither settled nor have I been able to wash off the brown color off of my skin...unlike some desi folks around here....I'm trying....
No problems about Telugu, it's pretty nice language, all our words end in vowels - and is compared to another language famous for it's cuisine (not Indian)..... Care to guess which one?
Did you try performing the pujas, atleast? : http://www.andhravilas.com/vpuja.asp

Batistula? I have no idea what it means, But Batistuta, on the other hand, is the last name of An Argentine Football striker. I am a Argentine soccer Fanatic and hence the name.
I will be in an ashram near Mysore and will celebrate Janmashtami on Sept 4. There will be fasting till mid-night and lots of Bhajans and chanting of the Holy name of god. I visit the Place for the peace of Mind it gives me and not due to any religious beliefs.
Yes, There are a few specific instructions to do Pooja on Janmasthami. It will be great if You can take a dip in any Holy river, At midnight, In case there is no river Nearby, the bath-room tub will do just fine and You also need to memorise a few verses from the Bhagavad gita.
Kidding with you on those Pooja Instructions, I Don't have any idea about that.
Cheers,

The festival of Holi will be celebrated next weekend. Holika dahan(religious bonfire) will be on Friday night and the "colourful" Holi next day. For the real revellers there is the Sunday to nurse the hangovers.
Plenty of sweets and a glass of Bhang..... bring the bucket of colour and the"pichkari" pals.
