I booked couple of seats this morning LHR-BOM, then checked to see if I could get BOM-Goa by Spicejet, I prefer this because the flight times for virgin are great for me and then the connection to Goa.
I found that I spicejet seats came to 2000+tax ruppes and if I go a day earlier it was 0.99+tax, so tried to change the departure date on virgin, here is where I had an issue and I want to share this with you.
number is 0870 so this costs loads, so tried saynoto0870 and got landline number, after IVR messages finaly ended up in Indian call centre. The guys kept me on hold for over 20 minutes and then told me it was £50 to change the date, (I called about 40 minutes after making the booking over the net). He would not have it and gave me email address to complain, I refused and asked for a supervisor, she asked me to repeat (so I could keep on paying them for the call), I asked her what she had been told. She also repeated the same charge, I said where on the web does it say there is no "cooling off" time?
hold again to check website, came back and made the changes without charge!
So be aware if you are booking flights on web, check the cool off period. I was told virgin was going to amend their website.
£378 each(jan08), not bad considering I got 4 free flight from them last time for overbooking and overnight 5* hotel room in Mumbai for the family and I gained virgin miles as well.  O_O
