Hi!
I’m planning my trip to India and I have heard a lot about people that do miracles. I’ve heard about yogis demonstrating psychic vision, mind reading and telepathy. If you know such people, could you advise me how to meet them? Please write on forum by PM

I think if you are on to India to find miracles, you will be very disappointed. You will find yogis, fortune tellers, yogacenters etc, and lot of them cater to western tourists, for financial considerations. But spirituality and miracles you will have to find on your own!

And yes, there will be lot of places you will find peace of mind, with a little guidance from a Guru, it is hard to say how to find one, everyone has a different definition. Good thread for spiritual discussion...

I do not believe in these things. They don't exist any where so in my opinion do not try to find these in India. As noflylist has said there are fakes who take on gullible tourists and make money, so don't fall in their traps.
No real Guru would indulge in these gimmics. To learn more about Indian spirituality read Swami Vivekananda's writtings.

Many people who read 'Autobiography of a Yogi' think that India is teeming with the Miracles mentioned in that book. I don't know the source from which you heard this about India, But let me assure you that such People don't come out in the open, the exception being Sai Baba-A great con artist, and perform Magic, and the people who do know such People ( I know a member who might know some of them) will be loathe to give you that information.

Sorry for the Negative post, On a More Positive Note, Welcome to India tree. :clapping:

well...there are 'miracles', mind reading, psychic vision but it is really difficult to seek a real experience these days.

i am sure there are quite a few frauds, quacks and crooks out there in the main street but there are some folks who have extraordinary talents and paranormal aura.  there are many skeptics of such things but they can kiss my brown ass for all i care.

i think a lot of this is also a personal (solo) journey and faith in a relationship with a genuine guru.

if you are asking for the 3 min experience or the 9-step guide to some of this, then i am afraid you are in for disappointment.

good luck in your quest.

i do believe in miracles, but i don't believe you can seek them out or find them by paying for them.

they happen, and you have to be looking at the right time, with the right frame of mind, to see them.

and welcome to the tree. :clapping:
just is.

Everything is a miracle.......all you have to do is look around, open your eyes and digest that vision.

Swami Vivekananda would be an excellent place to start, as suggested above.

Another similar great book on this subject is "A Search in Secret India" by Paul Brunton. Check it out! :clapping: KK

That's just freaked me out but I'm sure someone will have a logical explanation of how it works, hopefully!

Anyone wanting to kiss greenchutney's ass could do a lot better and read 'Tricks of The Mind' by Derren Brown. He shows how mind-reading, telepathy etc can be faked by anyone with a talent for psychological tricks and a good dose of showmanship.

Elsewhere, he's written some great stuff about how to avoid being conned by charlatans offering advice from beyond the grave etc. He seems to be on a mission to protect the vulnerable (the recently bereaved particularly) from people who are preyed upon by mediums and the like. I like him a lot.

If you do find someone that can practise genuine telepathy that can be scientifically proven, point them in the direction of James Randi. For some time now, he's been offering a million dollars to anyone able prove the existence of the paranormal in a scientific setting.

Unsurprisingly, no-one's managed to win it yet.

As most of you know my old man died a couple of months back.  Some family members tell me he is still with me and watching me, sure he'll be with me tomorrow (sort of) when i go to collect his ashes but he'd have a bit of difficulty watching me i would think.

He had a saying "Wen yer ded yer dun wid", nobody in history has ever proved the existence of after life or any supreme beings and yet poor vulnerable folk waste their whole lives and finance believing it, makes me sad!
