Where can I get an hair cut as a girl in India? I mean, are there kind of hair dresser's for women?
I don't need sophisticated stuff of course - it only needs to be clipped (straight please :tongueout: I have long hair and when I travel for months I will need a hair cut.
Any suggestions in Delhi f ex?

bumblebee, i'm sure we've had this question before but i can't find the thread!

however, i do know that salons exist all over india from the very simple to the incredibly ritzy. if my memory serves i believe that many hotels (probably the more expensive) have beauty salons that anyone can use. we have some regular members here from delhi so i'm sure one of them will have some specific answers soon.
just is.

Thanks, I searched the forum too and couldn't find anything.

Btw, I'm sure there are many places, but probably for for men (?). I'd rather not be at a barber's where I get all the attention of an only-men public because of my long blond hair..
So, something where women also go, is what I look for :tongueout:
Oh yes, and not these expensive ones with a show around: I only need a simple and cheap hair cut - nothing fancy :tongueout:

Bumblebee, wherever you'll be staying in Delhi, I'm sure the proprieter will be only too happy to recommend somewhere for you to have your hair cut.

Otherwise, be patient, and one of our Delhites will give you more information.

There are hairdressers all over every city, virtually all mid to high range hotels have them too and they are not usually very expensive.  Just keep an eye out for the usual hairdresser sponsor signs, Loreal etc...

Try Kuene in Greater Kailash, Part-I, M-Block Market or go to Hari & Shanti in South Extension.

Whichever area in delhi you will be staying in .. there invariably will be a "beauty parlour" (cheaper comparatively). Those are exclusively for women.. or there are "unisex saloons" (costlier/snazzier) but you have to look out for them.

Harry and Shanti also have a setup in def Col market now which is on the whole slightly easier to get to than south ex sometimes.. my wife only goes to them and I distinctly remember the jumping around when the news came out!  :(

I also went to Harry and Shanti in Defence Colony - a little pricey but not as pricey as back in Oz or NZ. I got a very good haircut there for 300 rupees, including hairwashing. However, must add I pay 50 rupees here in Jaisalmer, but the cut is not as good!
