hi all, sorry if this was asked before, couldn't find the answer anywhere.
I arrive at Mumbai airport on 21:30 and would like to catch the 23:10 train from dadar (to pernem) or from thane on 23:45. there is no general availability but there is foreign tourist quota availability. would I be able to buy the ticket at that time? if so, can I do it at any station, for example dadar or thane or can I only buy it at cst or churchgate?
thanks
ps. unfortunately it's impossible to buy foreign tourist quota tickets online

very fast reply, but tourist quota tickets available only during business hours from special next door office to Churchgate station.

Tourist Quota tickets are not available on the day of travel, they have to be booked the day before. So you'll likely need to spend a day in Mumbai, or use the Taktal quota.
Another thing you can try is online booking Via the Konkan Railway Corporation who have a separate quota between Mumbai and Goa!

thank you for the quick and useful replies.
the tatkal is not available for this train (0111, konkan kanya) and the konkan railway site wants 1500 per ticket, so I guess i'm going the following morning with the mandovi express (0103).
anyone knows of an unexpensive place to stay for the night near dadar or cst? nothing fancy, no tv or air-con needed, just clean, preferably less then 800
thank you
