Distance To Congress

Hello pilgrims and.... others in Delhi!

Having never been to Delhi before, I would appreciate if anyone can tell me how far The Hotel Gold Regency might be from Congress HQ? I have an appointment there shortly, and this hotel looks good enough thats for sure, but not knowing Delhi - I wouldnt want to have to travel 20k !

Any help appreciated on this, or another fairly cheap place to stay in Delhi would be most welcome!

Welcome to Delhi Shanthi.
The hotel you have chosen is a 3 star place in Pahargunge. By Congress head quarters I think you mean their central party office which is at 24, Akbar Road near the India Gate. From Pahargunge come to CP and take Janpath towards India gate, cross Rajpath and then Akbar Road. From your hotel you will reach this place within half an hour by an auto.
Shanthi in Delhi 20Kms is not a big distance !!!
Let me know if you have any question about Delhi.
Other travellers like CH may be able to suggest other hotels.

The Gold Regency is a good Hotel and handy for all your needs but a bit over priced IMHO. There are several good Hotels in the area have a look around to see which one suits you. However if price is not an Issue, then the Gold Regency is fine and close to the main road to escape the hustle and bustle of the main Bazaar.

We always stay at the Star Paradise, which is just up the road and a fair bit cheaper. Again this place is handy for everything internet, cakes (yep real ones) money etc.

Oh, the GR says it is only 490/- for the room - which I thought to be super cheap? I had got this hotel from a previous post of yours CH, and yes, price is alwyas an issue !!!

Unfortunately we shall be flying to Delhi on one day, having our appointment the next, and flying back the morning of the third day - wont have any time to look around or anything like that. All I wanted was one that was not too far from Congress HQ. I have absolutely NO IDEA how far the place is from the airport either - never having had the privilege of going to Delhi before.
