Hi,
I am flying into delhi domestic airport and the next day I am flying out of the dmoestic airport us to leh. I only need a room for the night and would not be doing any sightseeing. Please could someone recommend a reasonable place to stay with a double room near the domestic airport as have the early morning Jet Airways flight to leh booked already. Need a double room hopefully costing no more than about 1600 INR.
Proximity to the airport is good as don't fancy missing my flght.
Thanks, Adam

There are two hotels which spring to mind the Hotel Star
And the Hotel R Blues
Both are close to the airport and have rooms for 750 or less!
The airport also has retiring rooms but they are often full and issued on a first come first served basis, so you can't book them!!

I know this is not real close to the airport but I stayed at Hotel Relax in Paharganj, not bad for first night.

The Star used to be ok but all the rooms now smell of damp. The rates are too high for what the place is.
The Shalimar which is close to the Star is a much better hotel for a similar price. There is a good restaraunt downstairs as well which is not too expensive.

Hi Cyberhippie, I have just booked a room (category "deluxe", AC with attached bath) at the Therblues Hotel; the total price is 1350 Rp, which is about 26 Euros. It seems a good price for an hotel in the airport area, compared to the prices in Europe!
Do you know (if you have been there) if is it possible to have dinner at late hours in the hotel? We will arrive at 23:00-23:30 I presume, for us it will be dinner time... and the first meal in India!!
BTW... what does it mean "bathroom attached"? In the room or outside?

There is also a good accommodation of Youth Hostels in Chanakyapuri. A/C room are available for less than Rs1000. It appears to be good and decent.

I don't know if you will be able to get diiner in the hotel when you arrive but there used to be an late night dhaba just along from this group of hotels, it was pretty good as I remember. This place would stay open late (maybe 24 hours) to feed the truckers and drivers on the NH8!!

Does anyone know of any more upmarket hotels close to the airport, upto about Rs4000. I'm trying to find somewhere decent for some friends who are arriving with children & flying out to Gaggal the next day. I don't want to recommend somewhere that turns out to be a dump,it's their first time in India. KK

Hi
If you are looking for budget hotels in delhi then I would say its better to go for homestays or guest houses in Delhi.
There are plenty of options available and its anytime better than hotel stay because you get all facilities in your budget and comfortable home like experience.
Last year I had visited delhi and was staying at Akanksha guest house. And they have range of rooms available. Check out their profile on mygreatstay they have rooms pictures and other details.
