Have any of you a recipe suggestion for tinned or frozen sweetcorn - not the tinned 'creamed' version, the whole kernel tinned variety?  Thanks in advance?

Does it have to be an Indian recipe?  If not, I have a couple.

That should be simple: ;)

A:
1.Make some ghee.
2.Chop some onions.
3.Grind garlic along with dry chilli or green chilli (your choice of heat and flavor).
4.Cut a lime/lemon x 4.

B:
1.Heat the ghee.
2.Add chopped onions, fry a bit till opaque.
3.Add corn - let fry for a couple of minutes.
4.Add ground garlic+chilli.
5.Remove before you start sneezing.
6.Spoon onto your favorite snack plate.
7.Squeeze one (or two) wedges of lime/lemon.
8.Carefully pick a nice spot around your home, preferably on your patio, preferebly when it's raining.
9.Enjoy.

(Saving the other two wedges of lime/lemon may help you aquire a new friend or two, provided you have any corn left.)

Hyderabadi, I am tempted to cut kernels off a couple ears of corn just to try that...

Hyderabadi ;) - thanks for that recipe, it is certainly a MUST - and I do have a patio. ;) - Personally, I think this sounds too good to share.

Dzi, not necessarily Indian.......any recipe would be appreciated

Well, Hyderabadi, there wasn't any rain, but it was freezing :indiaflag:  Your recipe was lovely; quick and easy too - thank you.  I also added jeera and decorated my dish with dhania.

C'mon Dzi - where are those recipes?

Glad you liked it, did you make it with red chillies or green? Personally, I like it with green chillies.

Never added jeera or dhania, must try that.

A sprinkling of chillie powder PLUS 2 green chillies - Just the right amount of heat for this cold weather too.  I even had the left-overs for lunch today.

Thank you again! :whistling:

I tried this last night when friends came to dinner. Used frozen corn and fresh English peas, and red chile flakes instead of fresh chiles. It was great and the friends loved it. It seems to me that this would work well with any fast-cooking veg.

The particular one I had in mind was for corn and potato chowder but I realized it has bacon in it and you're vegetarian.  Well, maybe I send it anyway and you can just leave out the bacon.  I'll hop to it when I get home from work this evening.
