Beautiful - but where are the people?  Everything seems so pristine too.

:o People were missing this year..we were a bit disappointed too. Last year we went around Thanksgiving time and there were lots of people, jazz musicians, jugglers.. This year nothing, except a bunch of drunk kids in stretch limousines  .

Also this kind of night photography is sometimes better without moving things because of the longer exposure time. They just end up looking like ghosts!

Pristine?  :o

It takes three (can be done with more too) pictures at different exposures  to make one picture:

Here's my latest experiment:

Now that I've finally figured out how to save HDR as a Jpeg I'll have to see what I can come up with eh.

Looking forward to it CH!

You have to be really careful with HDR images. If you overprocess in HDR your pictures can end up looking like ridiculous cartoons.  On the other hand, if you do it properly, you eliminate the need for graduated ND filters (which are probably the hardest thing a photographer has to deal with).
Photomatics is handy because you can do the cartoonie stuff, or just even up the exposure on your pictures - (and even better, the latter is free with their trial edition).

Anyway, here are some of my example of HDR processing.

The second and third ones are probably the best by the way.

Drop me a PM if you want to know more.

Cheers

You have some absolutely stunning images in your portfolio! Really spectacular.

Thank you very much indeed Somerset, I really appreciate that.

It's mentioned above that you use three images to make your HDR.  I often use 5,6 or even 7.
There are also two ways to 'do it'.
The recommened way is to take serveral bracketed photos of the same shot, both under and overexposed, and then combine them.
Or, and this is the way I normally do it, using a RAW processor (e.g. Silkypix Pro) you make serveral versions of the image.  The beauty of this method is that it saves memory card space, and allows you do HDR with moving objects in the picture - i.e. people.

Cheers

Rob
