Namaste

I'm planning my next trip to India for August 2007. This time I'll be going to South India and it seems the travel will end in chennai. BUT I've already bought my flights from Barcelona to India (it was a great deal from Alitalia) so I'll have to fly out from Mumbai. My flight of from Mumbai is at 01:45 the night between 25th and 26th so I'll have to take a flight from chennai to Mumbai the 25th. While in India, I've only flown with Jet (to Ladakh) which turns to be one of the most expensive... so I'll go for a cheap flight.

After reading some posts about Deccan airlines I'm a little bit concerned about which airline shoud I choose in order to not lose the flight back home so the question is: which of the next budget airlines would you choose for flying the 25th chennai to Mumbai?

GoAir: departure: 10:15  arrival 12:00
Air India Express: departure 12:10 arrival 14:10
Spicejet: departure: 14:05 arrival 15:50

Thanks for your replies,

uribaba

I would use Deccan for any flight that is not time critical so DONT use them to get back to Mumbai for your departure from India.  Spicejet I found very reliable, also check out Indigo, they'd just started when I was about to leave India but I flew 6 or 7 times with them in one week and they were excellent and cheap.

Kingfisher are pretty good and have the best all round service of any indian airline in my opinion.

In saying all this, any of these companies can have delays and cancellations due to things beyond their control so give yourself a day in Mumbai before you come home if you can!

Thank you for your reply Malkers...

I've already checked Indigo but I need an Indian credit card which I don't have so let's wait they improve their service in this way. I've also checked Kingfisher but it seems they do some kind of dual prices and it was extremely expensive compared to the companies I quoted above.

thank you again,
