A lot of people can't stand touring but to me it's like breathing. I do it because I'm driven to do it.

July & August are the monsoon months. Expect rains and also land slides at some places. Ride carefully.

Well yeah it is better to get your own transport. But if you havent done rides before you are most welcomed, I just need to find out if someone can acommodate you on the bike. Since we carry heavy luggage, most of them prefer solo riding. But dont worry I will find out.
Where are you from by the way??

Rains may give some bother during this period but not much of it beyond Rohtang Pass.
Shilp I don’t think there is going to any seat for you, so plan in advance. Unless prepped for the rigors, a bullet spattering, stuttering and finally dying with a pillion by 6th Gata Loop isn’t uncommon sight.

Hey very true. Looks like the roads must open soon. I have seen some of your other postings. Looks like you have been there several times now. Is there anything interesting you would like to share. Any real good places I can look at may be interior in the villages??

Marvin, for the places on route, I’d say you research a bit, there isn’t much to deviate from the road past Koksar, since you are riding an Enfield I’d suggest you re-sprocket if you can. Change engine oil at Manali itself and carry 1 ltr engine oil as rain cheque. If running on points then try to set a little ‘advance’ timing. Don’t go rich jetting it’s not going to make it run better anyway. Clean the carburettor at Manali before big haul and get your petrol tank chemically treated for anti rust, gives it a general wash over for any junk or rust when you are still at Bangy.

Hmm. Sounds a lot of preparation once I hit the road. :) geez thanks a lot for that, will note that down. I have rode many roads but never on such steep altitudes. So may be its a great learning experience as a rider. I will be carrying all basic stuff for the bike right from delhi..at starting point. But like you said I might need to keep tunin it all way long.

:)

Thanks

Any mor eplaces in the village u can suggets some?

Hi Mervin, Keylong is a good place (with wonderful views) to break for a few days to acclimatise, if you did this you could spend a day visiting Triloknath & Udeypur, they are 40-50kms from Keylong, but should be no problem on a Bullett. Here's some info. KK
