Travelling with Jet Airways can easily end up in nothing but big trouble. From bad experience at Kathmandu airport on the way to New Delhi, I cannot recommend this airline. The unprovoked offload off the flight and the missed connection flight involved were the starting point of a 36 hour lasting drama.
The station managers of Jet Airways were apparently obliging and cooperative but turned out to be obviously incompetent and over-challenged by the task to quickly organize a substitute flight. The Jet Airways manager responsible for New Delhi was in Bangkok and could not be reached at any time because his cellphone was switched off.
Only after long and laboured negotiations and insistent pressure from the flight passengers’ side, a solution was found: one and a half day too late and at the expense of everybody’s nerves and unscheduled financial costs. The airline plans to join the Star Alliance: after incidents as mentioned above, an admission should be thought about twice.

This is probably an isolated event. Jet is a preferred airline in India.

How odd, the second time in two weeks that someone uses their first post to introduce themselves with a rant against Jet Airways between Delhi and Kathmandhu, then they bugger off and never post again!
Anybody think that maybe the Air Deccan staff have learnt to use a forum?

Smoked for 25 years but now not smoked since 13th Jan. Am I now a non smoker, a smoker who doesn't smoke or an ex smoker? Do I have to even have a title, can I not just be a 'me'? Has not smoking made me crazy?, probably!

I think it is the same poster as before .... Complaining about an offload (Bumped - overbooking) and then goes on moaning, but talking as if the flight was cancelled.
I suggest that the Moderators delete him and the thread.

To have any accuracy, a poll has to involve at least 2000 participants, so I guess that opinions on 2000 flights with Jet Airways would be needed to come to any conclusion on their reliability.
I'm trying to think of an airline I have used that has not inconvenienced me at some time, and I can't!
Whatever the inconvenience, a 36 hour delay is far preferable to travelling from Kathmandu to New Delhi on an ox cart.

Off-topic, I know!
Mr Judi tried to travel from the north of England to Nice yesterday, with a reputable airline (whom I shall not name!) ...... the original flight was cancelled, then the subsequent one, and the airline refused to honour his return tickets if he found another way of travelling there (which they could not do, but I could!). They put him on a 6a.m flight this morning (22 hours after the original one) from Leeds to Amsterdam, then Amsterdam to Lyon, then Lyon to Nice. The Amsterdam flight was late, subsequently he missed the Lyon flight - and will now arrive in Nice late this evening, missing one and a half days of a three day conference!
I know for sure he would have rather had a 36 hour delay in India
