We booked into the River Camp Hotel that consisted of a group of shacks on a ridge with the Ganges flowing directly below. The view from the balcony was delightful and the food from its small restaurant of a high standard.
The village consisted of not much more than a few stalls, a couple of restaurants and a outfit offering rafting and rock climbing excursions.
Kaudyala was a nice spot to spend a couple of days just to chat with the locals, stroll along the river tracks, and breathe the mountain air; or just to watch the river flow.
