Title :: Steamed Yoghurt
Author :: iwanttogoback
Category :: Deserts
Ingredients ::
  • 200ml canned condensed milk
  • 200ml natural yoghurt
  • 2 tblspn brown sugar
  • 2 tblspn raisins, soaked in hot water 40 mins, then drained
  • 2 tblspn flaked almonds
Description ::
the name doesn't do this dish justice - it's thick, sweet, rich and ever so good. there are never left overs. unfortunately.
and it's incredibly easy to make.

How easy is this?

Heat the oven to 150C/300F.

Mix the milk and yoghurt well, a fork should do the trick.

Pour into a small ovenproof dish and place this in a steam bath in the oven (simply, a dish large enough to hold the pudding bowl and 2-3 inches of water. i use a baking dish).

Bake for 40-45 minutes or until the yoghurt has just set.

Sprinkle the sugar, raisins and almonds on top, return to the oven and cook for a further 3-5 minutes until the sugar caramelizes.

Can be eaten hot or cold, but i prefer cold.

yum. yum. yum.

I made this over the weekend, but had to substitute the raisins and almonds with sultanas and macadaemia nuts.  It was delicious and, as iwtgb says, extremely easy and very 'more-ish' :lipssealed:

I am just so pleased I didn't double up on the quantities :)
