I am far from being a Delhi expert, but one of my happy childhood memory (from a long time back) is a visit to the Mughal Gardens. Unfortunately these are only open for visit during Feb and March - and I've not be in India during those months for a long time. For anyone visiting during this period, I'd highly recommend it. I've included the URL for the gardens: http://presidentofin...halGarden.html#.

Someone who has visited it more recently can perhaps provide more current impression. If I were visiting Delhi during the open period, I'd definitely include it in my plan.

Apart from the Mughal Gardens there is another interesting thing. Our Prez Dr. Kalam was very impressed by the collection of old/antique cutleries, crockery, decanters, picnic boxes etc. at Rashtrapati Bhawan. So he had an idea of an exhibition of these treasures. Under his supervision these old beauties have been arranged beautifully and exhibited.

what about ice cream at India gate?

that was a monthly routine as children, in simpler times.

Yes Captn. an icecream is a good idea after the firery meal at Andhra bhawan.
In simpler times an outing to India Gate in the evening used to be a great affair. The malls & multiplexes have started to cast their magic spell.... "C u @ Ansals..." or "C u @ EDM" are doing the rounds !!!
