Can sombody give some suggestions on the trip from Mumbai to Goa by sea? I am not asking about age old ships but speedy transport and fares etc.

The only way you can do it by sea is by the cruise ship Super Star Libra which has sailings for a three day trip from Mumbai to Goa and back.

Cheers,
Aadil.

I think that is very costly!
Somebody was supposed to introduce some speed boat sort of things to reach within 6- 7 hours?

There was a fast catamaran service but I hear it is discontinued. The first time I went to Goa I travelled on the deck of a ship which used to sail daily from Mumbai to Goa & back. THe ship used to dock at a few places on the way. The food at the dining hall was great.

There is no service except the Libra, as Aadil says.

The catamaran was discontinued because (I was told) of financial problems, monsoons shutting out the schedule. They also found that Indians, not used to sea travel, got sick more often.

Can it be started again? I think many people will like that. Even seasonal trips will do.We can suggest Maharashtra or Goa tourism.
