Having just booked my flight that for once arrives in Mumbai at the sensible time of 12:10pm I'm wondering if I'd be better off going straight over to the domestic terminal and catching a connecting flight to Goa. It would save the hassle of going into Mumbai, staying the night at great expense and then having to get back out to the airport.

I've noticed that Spicejet have a flight at 16:15 that will only be 4722rs for all of us. So my questions are:

#1 Are spicejet any good, I've only flown Sahara and Jet before.

#2 Are we likely to be seriously delayed on the budget airlines - for this reason I haven't even checked Deccan, are they as bad as everyone says?  I can't really face this after an overnighter and 2 kids.

#3 Is there enough time (4hrs) between our Virgin flight from London arriving and getting to the domestic terminal and checking in etc.

#4 Any other suggestions?

Thankyou!

Kristy,

I recently flew with Spicejet and I have to say they were good. (except the security man stole my deo)

I was scheduled to fly out of Hyderabad @ 00:30 hours on Monday morning, the flight was delayed, but I was informed through a text and a phone call with about 4 hours to spare.. (more drinking time for me)

the aircrafs are pretty new so they are in great shape and they dont charge you for the water.. :D

Deccan I feel are getting much better and not everyone thinks they are crap.

However, if my flying time was time critical then I would choose Spice, Kingfisher or Indigo all of which I have flown with many times and had no real dramas!

Deccan would be my first choice if flying in the morning or if time is not critical
other wise Kingfisher, jet or Indian etc.

have yet to fly spice so cant comment

Thanks guys, I've just booked my flight on Spicejet. Annoyingly it's gone up by 2000rs since yesterday grrr! But I guess that's what happens when you're indecisive!

Just hoping that my flight into Mumbai doesn't get delayed.....

im pro deccan coz of the prices they have to offer. their early morning flights have always been on time.
also they tell you if a plane is delayed thro sms so u can get to the airport a little later.
the only time I have had a problem with them was during the August 15th holidays, but then ALL other flights also were delayed so it wasnt only deccan.
but do watch it if u have extra luggage coz they are sure to charge u even for a kilo extra. others mite let u off with even 5kg extra(jet once let me off with 7kg extra luggage) but not deccan.
