Title :: Dahl Mangsho
Author :: jyotirmoy
Category :: Non Veg
Ingredients ::
  • 1/2 kilo mutton or chicken
  • Salt according to taste
  • 1/4 tsp Turmeric powder
  • 1/2 tsp chilli powder
  • 1 medium onion chopped
  • 1 cup dal chana pre-soaked for at least 4 hours.
  • 1/4 tsp ginger paste
  • 1/4 tsp garam masala
  • 3 tbs vegetable oil
Description ::
Very simple & very filling

Fry the onion in oil till it starts to turn brown.Add the spices and meat and let the water dry.Then add the pre-soaked dal and 2 glasses of water.Cover and leave on low heat to tenderize.When both meat and dal have softened add ginger and gram masala.Garnish with fresh corriander leaves and chopped green chilli. Add a spoonful or two of Ghee. Serve with a dash of lemon. Its ok with both rotis and rice... I prefer rice tho.
Enjoy.

Can I cook this in a pressure cooker or is it better in a saucepan?

Yes sure you can cook this in a pressure cooker. I do that most of the time.
Slow cooking in a pan enhances the taste but that takes too much of time.
